Mia Moda Child Car Seat Recall 2009
The manufacturer of Mia Moda child safety seats is recalling 5,540 defective units, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced Tuesday. The harness splitter plate on the back of the seat has sharp edges that can cut the harness, therefore posing a danger of not adequately restraining a child in crash. Also, in the event of a crash the bases of some models could crack. Models affected include Viva and Viva Supreme, numbers 5000, 5001, 5050, 5051, 5070, 5071, 5080 and
5081. Consumers should stop using the seats immediately. Lerado, the seats’ manufacturer, will notify registered owners.
If your child has been injured, you may have a claim against Lerado, the manufacturer of Mia Moda child safety seats, and others.
