A pickup truck failed to yield the right of way at an intersection in Scott County, broadsiding a car that carried a pregnant woman, resulting in a miscarriage.
The State Patrol identified the woman as Katie Messer, 28, of Victoria. She was a passenger in a Toyota Camry driven by 32-year-old Nathan Messer, also of Victoria. The mother’s fetus was more than 4-months-old, according to a story in the Star Tribune.
Citing the State Patrol, the newspaper reported that the pickup truck was westbound on 220th Street and the car was southbound on Highway 13 when the truck failed to yield at the intersection.
The accident report said the pickup was driven by Kevin Hafermann, 40, of Prior Lake.
All three adults suffered minor or non-life threatening injuries.
The accident happened Saturday, just before noon.
